An effective LEV system should be well designed and constructed, properly used and maintained in good condition.

This along with regular LEV inspections and servicing will ensure that the system is safe for the pollutants being controlled and is in compliance with HSE regulations.

Systems are classed as Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) if they are used to control, capture or contain airborne contaminants such as dust or fumes. These may be controlled "at" or close to the point of emission and then conveyed through the system to a point where they can be safely collected in filters or released to atmosphere.
